I wish I was Able to speak up is a performance collaboration between artists Neda Moridpour and Pouya Afshar on exploring gender identities and gender roles in Iranian film industry. The video represents the issue of censorship in traditional Iraninan films and how love is censored by different symbols such as apple.
The narration is a selection of Ahmad Shamlou's readings of his own poems, who is one of the most influential poets of Iran.
